Lima Team's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Wilson Frois in the 14th minute. Paulo Fagundes stood somewhat misplaced when Gez Barber came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 19 minute. A collision led to Garlic Eaters getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. James Tuck hit a great ball. In the 24th minute of the match Wilson Frois sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nikolay Bonkov skillfully saved the ball. Gez Barber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Paulo Fagundes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Gois in the 29th minute of play forced Garlic Eaters's goalkeeper Nikolay Bonkov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nikolay Bonkov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nélson Bentes, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute of the match, Gez Barber got a very nice opportunity to score, but Paulo Fagundes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Honorato Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gez Barber to strike the kick off in the second half. Nikolay Bonkov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomás Gois in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the game, Gez Barber was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Garlic Eaters's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lima Team the free kick. After a rather tough play, Garlic Eaters's Gez Barber got a free kick in the 58th minute. Garlic Eaters's Nikolay Bonkov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nélson Bentes in the 59th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Garlic Eaters's Gez Barber sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paulo Fagundes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 60th match minute, Lima Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angélico Ventura to maneuver through the defense. Honorato Amaral charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Honorato Amaral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 71 played minutes Lima Team got a freekick which was hit by Honorato Amaral. After 92 minutes, Shane Barratt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garlic Eaters and the Lima Team players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 95th match minute, Garlic Eaters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by James Tuck to maneuver through the defense. Nikolay Bonkov was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Severiano Lucena.
