In the 12th minute, Clube Atlético Luziense's Baran Ensar dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. In the 16th minute of the match, Sigvard Glad tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ronaldo Giovanelli saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Mihăiţă Pantilimon took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ronaldo Giovanelli. Galo do Japi's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Artemio Tohias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chico Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Mihăiţă Pantilimon made in the 22nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Sigvard Glad. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Corryn Veloz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galo do Japi's supporters rose to their feet, but Corryn Veloz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artemio Tohias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chico Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artemio Tohias having to interfere. Mihăiţă Pantilimon charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Chico Valadares might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Artemio Tohias. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chico Valadares ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabinho Albuquerque's late challenge caught a Galo do Japi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabinho Albuquerque helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Clube Atlético Luziense's Fabinho Albuquerque got a free kick in the 70th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chico Valadares in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Artemio Tohias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With an all-out effort, Galo do Japi's Artemio Tohias threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Chico Valadares, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Fabinho Albuquerque hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Chico Valadares received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Artemio Tohias came out and tried to block the shot, but Chico Valadares slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 80th minute. Chico Valadares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Artemio Tohias having to make a save. With a little luck, Clube Atlético Luziense's Artemio Tohias got control of the ball when Chico Valadares tried to sneak it across the goal line. One of Clube Atlético Luziense:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Galo do Japi:s goal. In the 100th minute there was a penalty for Galo do Japi. Chico Valadares stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Artemio Tohias. 1-4. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Galo do Japi eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
