After a rather tough play, Compostela FSCMZ's Romário Borges got a free kick in the 5th minute. Jairo Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Severo in the 7th minute of the match. In the 8th minute, Leonardo Teixeira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jairo Fonseca was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Compostela FSCMZ's Virgílio Miranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo de Sena in the 11th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Severo in the 15th minute of play forced Clube Atlético Luziense's goalkeeper Jairo Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jairo Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Teixeira in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Gerson Furlan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clube Atlético Luziense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Compostela FSCMZ the free kick. Virgílio Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Rodrigues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Compostela FSCMZ's Cristiano Severo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jairo Fonseca. That made the score 2-0 after 34 minutes of play. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Cristiano Severo took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Jairo Fonseca to make any attempt to save it. When Compostela FSCMZ's Pedro Tasso in 42 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Jairo Fonseca guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. 43 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Luziense's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Severo came free, but Jairo Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jairo Fonseca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leonardo Teixeira went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score.

Compostela FSCMZ made a substitution. Zé Roberto Galvão replaced Romário Borges. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristiano Severo was the one to do the kick off. Pedro Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Jairo Fonseca was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
