After 2 minutes, Prospero Jakes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bahía é Carnaval and the Q. T. I. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mickael Wuyts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anibal Lluques in the 3rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Anibal Lluques's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mickael Wuyts was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Anibal Lluques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Mickael Wuyts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Q. T. I.'s Anibal Lluques got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute Luis Iban shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Txatxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the game, Prospero Jakes threw the ball into play from the sideline. Q. T. I.'s Carlos Sergi quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Anibal Lluques recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sebastian Tello hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the game, Q. T. I.'s Anibal Lluques nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mickael Wuyts made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Anibal Lluques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mickael Wuyts having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Q. T. I.'s Anibal Lluques sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mickael Wuyts narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mickael Wuyts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anibal Lluques, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Q. T. I.'s Carlos Sergi managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Prospero Jakes in the 38 minute of the game. After 39 played minutes Q. T. I. got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Sergi. Justo Florian hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. The supporters of Bahía é Carnaval booed when Q. T. I. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Justo Florian didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Anibal Lluques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anibal Lluques to make the kick off. Anibal Lluques blasted a shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mickael Wuyts having to make a save. After 53 minutes Q. T. I.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Emilio Lucado who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anibal Lluques in the 57th minute of play forced Bahía é Carnaval's goalkeeper Mickael Wuyts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Bahía é Carnaval booed when Q. T. I. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximino Lorenz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Q. T. I. made a substitution. Leopoldo Vermudo replaced Haroldo Montrel. Q. T. I.'s Casimiro Guillelmus was substituted for Julian Raymundo. In the 64th minute, Maximino Lorenz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Q. T. I.'s Paulo Txatxu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erubiel Gaitan in the 65th minute of play. Anibal Lluques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Mickael Wuyts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bahía é Carnaval's Vinicio Florin was substituted for Marciano Ferran. After 71 played minutes Bahía é Carnaval got a freekick which was hit by Desiderio Demario. Mickael Wuyts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anibal Lluques in the 73rd minute of the match. Bahía é Carnaval's Conrado Cambranes was substituted for Erubiel Gaitan. In the 81stth minute of the game Anibal Lluques who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bahía é Carnaval's Mickael Wuyts was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Q. T. I.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lisandro Abeita in the 82nd minute. Anibal Lluques was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Paulo Txatxu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Desiderio Demario, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. 94 minutes into the match, Bahía é Carnaval's goalkeeper Mickael Wuyts had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anibal Lluques. The Q. T. I. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Q. T. I. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
