The audience was convinced that Zé Bani's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but 邓真义 was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zé Bani to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudio-Paul Caniggia in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Danijel Subašić prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Danijel Subašić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio-Paul Caniggia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
