Eliseo Guter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Hugues Drevet made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Eddy Raoult's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Martinez was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Raoul Caudal's late challenge caught a Santa Maradona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raoul Caudal helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Santa Maradona booed when Valette Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raoul Caudal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute, Eliseo Guter left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santa Maradona fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Carlos Martinez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eddy Raoult's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Carlos Martinez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paul Picavet, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Benigno Vermudo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The wind increased when Eddy Raoult made the kick off in the second half. Eddy Raoult's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 52ndth minute, Carlos Martinez skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Eddy Raoult went to the cornerflag to take it. A well done corner resulted in Raoul Caudal drilling the ball in to score 2-2 behind Santa Maradona's goalkeeper. Eddy Raoult recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. During the 69th minute of the match Arnoldo Lleir completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Arnoldo Lleir a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 70 played minutes Santa Maradona got a freekick which was hit by Arnoldo Lleir. In the 81st minute, Paul Picavet reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Carlos Martinez. The goal made the score 2-3. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Eddy Raoult put it in 2-4 from a short distance just to the right of Carlos Martinez. In the 91stth minute of the game Eddy Raoult who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santa Maradona's Carlos Martinez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Paul Picavet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valette Stars's supporters rose to their feet, but Paul Picavet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Martinez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Valette Stars supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Valette Stars would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
