Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Zé Roberto Moura made the kick off which started today's match. When Brock Friend came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Cruzeiro Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brock Friend couldn't finish the play. S S Palestra Italia's Jarbas Guedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brock Friend in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind S S Palestra Italia's goalkeeper Jarbas Guedes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 12th minute, Brock Friend left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cruzeiro Esporte Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio Figueiredo in the 16th minute of play forced Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Arthur Bufi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brock Friend in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jarbas Guedes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Arthur Bufi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 28 minutes into the match, S S Palestra Italia's Inácio Figueiredo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arthur Bufi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arthur Bufi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rony Tasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, Inácio Figueiredo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Arthur Bufi. The goal made the score 2-1. S S Palestra Italia's Jarbas Guedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duarte Félix in the 35th minute of play. Jarbas Guedes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Duarte Félix went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Inácio Figueiredo got free with Arthur Bufi in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 39th match minute, S S Palestra Italia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rony Tasso to maneuver through the defense. Jarbas Guedes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brock Friend in the 41st minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, S S Palestra Italia's goal looked a bit too open when Brock Friend came free, but Jarbas Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 42 minutes, Luiz Guilherme Cearense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cruzeiro Esporte Clube and the S S Palestra Italia players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 42nd minute, one of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cruzeiro Esporte Clube. A collision led to S S Palestra Italia getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Inácio Figueiredo hit a great ball. Jarbas Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brock Friend, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Duarte Félix was the one to do the kick off. Jarbas Guedes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brock Friend in the 53rd minute. Jarbas Guedes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brock Friend in the 55th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Hélder Lara got a free kick in the 57th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Inácio Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot. S S Palestra Italia's supporters rose to their feet, but Inácio Figueiredo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arthur Bufi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube made a substitution. Rogério Teixeira replaced Hélder Lara. Brock Friend had several of the S S Palestra Italia's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 65 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-3 score and a disappointed Jarbas Guedes as he didn't even see the shot coming. Arthur Bufi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inácio Figueiredo in the 71st minute of play. S S Palestra Italia's Jarbas Guedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duarte Félix in the 78th minute of play. After 81 minutes S S Palestra Italia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Oswaldo Maranhense who took care of the corner kick. After 81 played minutes Cruzeiro Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Teixeira. After 84 minutes, Rogério Teixeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cruzeiro Esporte Clube and the S S Palestra Italia players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd minute, Gavino Quexal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Paulo Fantini in the 93rd minute of play forced S S Palestra Italia's goalkeeper Jarbas Guedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arthur Bufi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rony Tasso in the 96th minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
