In the 4th minute, Lauro Cearense reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Edgard de Almeida. The goal made the score 1-0. Edgard de Almeida made an important save on a dangerous shot by Santos Rallo in the 6th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronaldinho Fenomeno got free with Edgard de Almeida in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edgard de Almeida was a little too slow when Lauro Cearense got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 16th minute. The score was now 2-0. In the 18th minute Ronaldinho Fenomeno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard de Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Montesclarense E.C.'s Edgard de Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lauro Cearense in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute, André Luís Schmidt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oliverio Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronaldinho Fenomeno got free with Edgard de Almeida in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edgard de Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lauro Cearense, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Montesclarense E.C.'s Edgard de Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldinho Fenomeno in the 32nd minute of play. Oliverio Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulão Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lauro Cearense's late challenge caught a Montesclarense E.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lauro Cearense helped the player get up and apologised. Montesclarense E.C. made a substitution. Guilherme Marinho replaced Eurico Velloso. Lauro Cearense hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The corner went over the outstretched arms of Montesclarense E.C.'s goalie and right to Eric Ramires. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Montesclarense E.C.'s manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Montesclarense E.C.'s Edgard de Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arif Oğuz Semdin in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arif Oğuz Semdin in the 84th minute of play forced Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Edgard de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of AS Pikachuzim booed when Montesclarense E.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulão Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 85 played minutes, AS Pikachuzim's Max Möllgren shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Edgard de Almeida came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AS Pikachuzim reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Ramires in the 88th minute of play forced Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Edgard de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luciano Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luciano Sarmento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Ramires in the 96th minute of play forced Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Edgard de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AS Pikachuzim were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Montesclarense E.C. for a fine match.
