Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Paulão Medeiros started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute, Tarcisio Luz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PEÇONHENTO FC MG fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 6 minutes into the match, Montesclarense E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Tarcisio Luz came free, but Edgard de Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgard de Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Vigil in the 12th minute of the match. Marcos Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 14th minute Tarcisio Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard de Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. PEÇONHENTO FC MG were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Montesclarense E.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gabriel Delassus took the corner. 17 minutes into the match, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goalkeeper Barra Gol had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulão Medeiros. In the 19th match minute, Montesclarense E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eurico Velloso to maneuver through the defense. Montesclarense E.C.'s Edgard de Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Vigil in the 23rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emanuel Vigil in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgard de Almeida prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emanuel Vigil in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgard de Almeida saved Montesclarense E.C. from getting behind. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gabriel Delassus in the 27th minute. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by Montesclarense E.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gabriel Delassus was slow to take the kick. During this time PEÇONHENTO FC MG's players had a chance to rest. In the 38th minute, Emanuel Vigil made a precise shot to the right of Edgard de Almeida. Montesclarense E.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Cafu de Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emanuel Vigil to make the kick off. Edgard de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Vigil in the 52nd minute of play. In the 56th minute Florian Patrylo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barra Gol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th match minute, Montesclarense E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulão Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Montesclarense E.C.'s Edgard de Almeida got control of the ball when Tarcisio Luz tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mazinho Barral in the 65th minute of play forced PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goalkeeper Barra Gol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Emanuel Vigil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edgard de Almeida was a little too slow when Cafu de Andrade got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 74th minute. The score was now 0-3. Edgard de Almeida came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Gabriel Delassus. But to his dismay, Gabriel Delassus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Cafu de Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute of the match, Peter Paul Crouch tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Edgard de Almeida saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Peter Paul Crouch took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edgard de Almeida. Edgard de Almeida dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Peter Paul Crouch scored 0-6 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edgard de Almeida, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
