AM United's David Bastos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Paraibano in the 3rd minute of play. David Bastos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 6th minute of the match. 7 minutes had been played when some careless play by AM United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pedro Luís da Rocha was slow to take the kick. During this time Marquês de Herval's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Pedro Luís da Rocha got away a dangerous shot. Despite this David Bastos quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 9th minute, Teodoro Freire got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Marquês de Herval's Selami Rezan got a free kick in the 10th minute. When AM United's Angelo Pessoa in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Marquês de Herval's goalie prevented a goal. In the 15th minute German Cano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Bastos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dida Taffarel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Teodoro Freire in the 21st minute. David Bastos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Martins in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelo Pessoa in the 26th minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Pessoa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Bastos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from German Cano, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. When Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AM United's goalie prevented a goal. 34 minutes into the game, Nikos Christou was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AM United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marquês de Herval the free kick. David Bastos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor Paraibano, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. David Bastos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from German Cano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

51 minutes into the match, AM United's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Martins came free, but David Bastos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 51 minutes into the match, Alfredo Martins notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of AM United's David Bastos. David Bastos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Alfredo Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marquês de Herval's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredo Martins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Bastos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nestor Paraibano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but David Bastos made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Martins in the 59th minute of play forced AM United's goalkeeper David Bastos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute Alfredo Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Bastos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
