Zeferino Cardoso hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Joaquim Paredes might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ademar Azevedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joaquim Paredes ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 8th minute, Gremio Viana's Joaquim Paredes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Lucílio Valente kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Samuel Fiúza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Binne Koppermann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute, Binne Koppermann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14th match minute, Gremio Viana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Paredes to maneuver through the defense. Gremio Viana's Samuel Fiúza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Binne Koppermann in the 16th minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Binne Koppermann ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Samuel Fiúza was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Joaquim Paredes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Ademar Azevedo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Lucílio Valente made in the 32nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Joaquim Paredes however managed to control. In the 46th minute Joaquim Paredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ademar Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joaquim Paredes was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joaquim Paredes in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ademar Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Clube Patrício's zone, Joaquim Paredes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ademar Azevedo came out of the goal and Joaquim Paredes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ademar Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Paredes in the 62nd minute of play.
