A collision led to AM United getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Roberto Tinoco hit a great ball. When Adalberto Amaro came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Gremio Viana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adalberto Amaro couldn't finish the play. Angelo Pessoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Samuel Fiúza made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Angelo Pessoa sent off a good shot on target. After 33 played minutes AM United got a freekick which was hit by Adelino Palma. Tony Påk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Bastos having to interfere. Lucílio Valente hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

55 minutes into the game, Angelo Carvalhal threw the ball into play from the sideline. Gremio Viana's Tony Påk quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Angelo Pessoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Fiúza having to interfere. 63 minutes into the game, Teodoro Freire cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Samuel Fiúza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 70 played minutes AM United got a freekick which was hit by Tobias Fontes. Gremio Viana made a substitution. Edson Nascimento replaced Joaquim Paredes. Tobias Fontes hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 73rd match minute, Gremio Viana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Higino Queirós to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, AM United's Angelo Carvalhal got a free kick in the 80th minute. AM United's David Bastos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save AM United from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 83rd minute by Edson Nascimento got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Gremio Viana's Edson Nascimento slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of David Bastos. That made the score 1-1 after 83 minutes of play. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind AM United's goalkeeper David Bastos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, AM United's Angelo Carvalhal got a free kick in the 89th minute. Angelo Pessoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Fiúza having to interfere. When Higino Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gremio Viana's protests and gave Higino Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Gremio Viana's Higino Queirós got a free kick in the 95th minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
