The audience thought a goal was coming when Róbson Velasco got free with Dida Taffarel in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, S.E. Pindorama Eagles's Inácio Ponta got a free kick in the 19th minute. The supporters of Marquês de Herval booed when S.E. Pindorama Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Ponta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ştefan Magheran to make the kick off. Pindorama Eagles's Vassilis Nentakis got control of the ball when Nestor Paraibano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nestor Paraibano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Vassilis Nentakis made a huge save. In the 60th minute, Inácio Ponta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Ştefan Magheran came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Marquês de Herval players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for S.E. Pindorama Eagles.
