If Domingos Lencastre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fábio Lobato kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. 6 minutes into the game, Domingos Lencastre recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alex Frasca. Domingos Lencastre showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After having played for 10 minutes, Domingos Lencastre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gremio Viana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingos Lencastre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fábio Lobato hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. After 16 played minutes Garanhão do SUL got a freekick which was hit by Fábio Lobato. Garanhão do SUL's Alex Frasca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Garanhão do SUL from getting a goal against them. Alex Frasca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Domingos Lencastre in the 19th minute. In the 23rd minute, Domingos Lencastre made a precise shot to the right of Alex Frasca. Garanhão do SUL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 30th minute Garanhão do SUL were awarded a corner. João Viana went to the cornerflag to take it. Garanhão do SUL's João Viana was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Moisés Nóbrega in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Alex Frasca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Domingos Lencastre in the 32nd minute. Joaquim Lustosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Alex Frasca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michal Kaczanka in the 38th minute of play forced Gremio Viana's goalkeeper Moisés Nóbrega to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Domingos Lencastre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Alex Frasca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgar Costa to make the kick off. If Joaquim Lustosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alex Frasca came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Gremio Viana's Domingos Lencastre. But to his dismay, Domingos Lencastre quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Domingos Lencastre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 57 minutes into the match, Garanhão do SUL's goal looked a bit too open when Domingos Lencastre came free, but Alex Frasca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Garanhão do SUL defense, Domingos Lencastre kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alex Frasca. The Garanhão do SUL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alex Frasca should have stopped the shot. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Garanhão do SUL's goalkeeper Alex Frasca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Garanhão do SUL's Alex Frasca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingos Lencastre in the 64th minute of play. Domingos Lencastre blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alex Frasca having to make a save. In the 70th minute Domingos Lencastre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Frasca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Domingos Lencastre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alex Frasca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingos Lencastre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Domingos Lencastre blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alex Frasca having to make a save. Alex Frasca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingos Lencastre, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Lencastre in the 79th minute of play forced Garanhão do SUL's goalkeeper Alex Frasca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Domingos Lencastre blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alex Frasca having to make a save. In the 81st minute Domingos Lencastre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Frasca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Domingos Lencastre put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Alex Frasca. Gremio Viana made a substitution. Joaquim Paredes replaced Domingos Lencastre. Garanhão do SUL's 孙誉剑 was substituted for Amado Vigário. Garanhão do SUL's Salvador Lousada was substituted for Aloísio Garcez. In the 90th minute of the match Gremio Viana got a corner. Garanhão do SUL's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adalberto Leite ran over to the corner to take the kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Garanhão do SUL players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gremio Viana.
