Roch Felenak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Armindo Salgado made a huge save. A sloppy throw-in by Arthur Guerra in the 5th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by La Pointe Courte's Roch Felenak. Jolan Galindo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gervásio Severiano in the 12th minute of play. When Roch Felenak came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the La Pointe Courte fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roch Felenak couldn't finish the play. Jolan Galindo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim de Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gianluca Prestin in the 21st minute of play forced VB-Team's goalkeeper Armindo Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gianluca Prestin scored 1-0 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Armindo Salgado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Armindo Salgado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roch Felenak in the 33rd minute. The corner led La Pointe Courte's Josué Pagueguy to fire away a dangerous shot which Armindo Salgado despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 37 minutes into the match, La Pointe Courte's goal looked a bit too open when Gervásio Severiano came free, but Jolan Galindo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jolan Galindo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Braga, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Luís Braga scored 1-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jolan Galindo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. La Pointe Courte's Jolan Galindo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim de Barros in the 46th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joaquim de Barros to make the kick off. Joaquim de Barros succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 55th playminute. La Pointe Courte's Dan Black was substituted for Alain Girault. 63 minutes into the match, La Pointe Courte's Gianluca Prestin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Armindo Salgado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. VB-Team's Armindo Salgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yves Leite in the 71st minute of play. Yves Leite took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Armindo Salgado. Armindo Salgado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. VB-Team made a substitution. Luís Caeiro replaced Joaquim de Barros. The crowd rose to their feet as Luís Braga kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jolan Galindo. That made the score 3-3 in the 79 minute of play. Jolan Galindo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gervásio Severiano in the 89th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Caeiro got free with Jolan Galindo in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 94th minute, Jelle Ceustermans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Despite being the better team, VB-Team failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
