The mood of the audience was pleasant when Cyprian Grunwalski made the kick off which started today's match. A collision led to Giallorossi Poland getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Edgar Sokol hit a great ball. In the 8th minute Peter Snell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tanek Wejta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Håkan Kjellman got free with Tanek Wejta in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tanek Wejta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Emander in the 12th minute of play. Johannes Botvidsson made a great header on FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's corner, it was just that Giallorossi Poland's Tanek Wejta managed to reach the ball for a save. Tanek Wejta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Emander, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After 16 minutes Giallorossi Poland's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Johannes Botvidsson who took care of the corner kick. In the 19th minute of the match, Håkan Kjellman got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tanek Wejta was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thanks to some nice moves Håkan Kjellman could shoot a difficult shot in the 23rd minute, which Tanek Wejta however easily saved by the left post. Zafer Hürsel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Sokol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tanek Wejta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peter Snell in the 28th minute. Tanek Wejta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Emander in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Sokol in the 31st minute of play forced FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's goalkeeper Zafer Hürsel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Giallorossi Poland's Tanek Wejta got control of the ball when Håkan Kjellman tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 35th match minute, Giallorossi Poland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miromir Pazura to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's Emanuel Emander ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tanek Wejta. In the 46th match minute, Giallorossi Poland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maciej Turacki to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute Emanuel Emander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tanek Wejta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's Zafer Hürsel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Sokol in the 79th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Giallorossi Poland's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Snell came free, but Tanek Wejta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Håkan Kjellman in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tanek Wejta saved Giallorossi Poland from getting behind. Tanek Wejta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Snell, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Tanek Wejta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Söderström in the 86th minute of play. Valentin Ivarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Håkan Kjellman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC Zenit Saint Petersburg had played much better football throughout.
