Florin Niță showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dinu Vrânceanu in the 12th minute of the match. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Florin Niță prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 31 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Octavian Bogdănescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Șerban Zegreanu. Florin Niță took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augustin Nechifor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Octavian Bogdănescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudiu Manolescu in the 34th minute of play. FC Steaua Pildesti's Octavian Bogdănescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save FC Steaua Pildesti from getting a goal against them. Dinu Vrânceanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Florin Niță tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 played minutes Navigatii Bacău got a freekick which was hit by Horea Stelea. Claudiu Manolescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Octavian Bogdănescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Claudiu Manolescu to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Șerban Zegreanu made a precise shot to the right of Octavian Bogdănescu. FC Steaua Pildesti's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 59th play minute Augustin Nechifor came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Florin Niță. 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Steaua Pildesti's Nichifor Vergulescu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Florin Niță. That made the score 1-2 after 65 minutes of play. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Dinu Vrânceanu took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Florin Niță to make any attempt to save it. Remus Zăraşcu struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Octavian Bogdănescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Navigatii Bacău. Octavian Bogdănescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudiu Manolescu in the 83rd minute of play. A collision led to FC Steaua Pildesti getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Nichifor Vergulescu hit a great ball. Martin Cănănău hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The Navigatii Bacău supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC Steaua Pildesti's performance. The match ended with a win for FC Steaua Pildesti.
