Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rodrigo Rojas got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute Steffen Gimlinge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Michael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 5 minutes into the game, Club Universidad Nacional's Eustaquio Mede nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mateo Michael made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 11 minutes into the match, Atlético Nuevo Laredo's goal looked a bit too open when Eustaquio Mede came free, but Mateo Michael reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eduardo Mincho made in the 14th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Tobías Astorga however managed to control. In the 16th minute Steffen Gimlinge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Michael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 17 played minutes Atlético Nuevo Laredo got a freekick which was hit by Carolo Bernat. Arnoud de Pelsmakere showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavio Etxatxu in the 21st minute of the match. 21 minutes into the game, Atlético Nuevo Laredo's Flavio Etxatxu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnoud de Pelsmakere made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 25 minutes into the game, Steffen Gimlinge cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Mateo Michael was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 29th minute, Steffen Gimlinge ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mateo Michael was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. When Eustaquio Mede came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Club Universidad Nacional fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eustaquio Mede couldn't finish the play. In the 34th minute, Steffen Gimlinge ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mateo Michael was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. 37 minutes into the match, Atlético Nuevo Laredo's goal looked a bit too open when Steffen Gimlinge came free, but Mateo Michael reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Steffen Gimlinge had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mateo Michael. Atlético Nuevo Laredo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Steffen Gimlinge was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Steffen Gimlinge scored 1-6 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mateo Michael, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 47 minutes of play, Club Universidad Nacional's Steffen Gimlinge made it 1-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mateo Michael was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Club Universidad Nacional were leading 1-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Steffen Gimlinge to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atlético Nuevo Laredo's goalkeeper Mateo Michael, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Steffen Gimlinge got free with Mateo Michael in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arnoud de Pelsmakere made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tobías Astorga in the 60th minute of play. When Freddy Restu fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlético Nuevo Laredo's protests and gave Freddy Restu a yellow card for diving instead. After 61 played minutes Atlético Nuevo Laredo got a freekick which was hit by Freddy Restu. After some careless play in the Atlético Nuevo Laredo defense, Steffen Gimlinge kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mateo Michael. The Atlético Nuevo Laredo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mateo Michael should have stopped the shot. Club Universidad Nacional's Feliciano Frans was substituted for Steffen Gimlinge. Feliciano Frans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Feliciano Frans could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Mateo Michael made a huge save. In the 68th match minute, Atlético Nuevo Laredo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Restu to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Feliciano Frans got free with Mateo Michael in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 72 minutes Atlético Nuevo Laredo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Angel Morales who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Club Universidad Nacional's Wladimir Herrera to fire away a dangerous shot which Mateo Michael despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some careless play in the Club Universidad Nacional defense, Tobías Astorga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnoud de Pelsmakere. The Club Universidad Nacional fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnoud de Pelsmakere should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Feliciano Frans kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mateo Michael. That made the score 2-10 in the 77 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Atlético Nuevo Laredo's Freddy Restu got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 85th minute, Feliciano Frans got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Club Universidad Nacional booed when Atlético Nuevo Laredo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddy Restu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, Feliciano Frans ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mateo Michael was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-11.
