The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the game, Saverio Roano threw the ball into play from the sideline. Cavaliers FC's Adolfo Umea quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 8 minutes into the game, Tequileros FC's Edgard Lécuyer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cornelio Villegas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodrigo Etor during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Tequileros FC booed when Cavaliers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Etor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teofilo Mikeldi might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ayhan Vuralhan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Teofilo Mikeldi ran back to his position shaking his head. Cornelio Villegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Lécuyer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute, Edgard Lécuyer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tequileros FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Dionisio Sotero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastián Villa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Ayhan Vuralhan made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Cavaliers FC's zone, Edgard Lécuyer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornelio Villegas came out of the goal and Edgard Lécuyer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cornelio Villegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Magdaleno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute Tequileros FC were awarded a corner. Edgard Magdaleno went to the cornerflag to take it. A collision led to Cavaliers FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Cecilio Feliz hit a great ball. In the 47th minute of the match Edgard Magdaleno sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cornelio Villegas skillfully saved the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Cornelio Villegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Magdaleno in the 56th minute of play. In the 58th minute Sebastián Villa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ayhan Vuralhan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cavaliers FC made a substitution. Desiderio Rami replaced Teofilo Mikeldi. Tequileros FC made a substitution. Conrado Baudelio replaced Edgard Lécuyer. After 68 minutes of play, Cavaliers FC's Desiderio Rami made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ayhan Vuralhan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ayhan Vuralhan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastián Villa, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado Baudelio in the 73rd minute of play forced Cavaliers FC's goalkeeper Cornelio Villegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cornelio Villegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Magdaleno in the 76th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Cavaliers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Magdaleno came free, but Cornelio Villegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cavaliers FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Tequileros FC for a fine match.
