Club Olimpia's Alfredo Aguilar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacob Albuquerque in the 35th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Club Olimpia's goal looked a bit too open when Jacob Albuquerque came free, but Alfredo Aguilar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in KaoS Futbol Club's zone, Denis Inestrosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pierluigi Buffon came out of the goal and Denis Inestrosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Di Yang Lei made in the 92nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Roberto Bueldi however managed to control. Igor Lebas took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfredo Aguilar. Alfredo Aguilar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0.
