Róbert Benkó started the match with the kick off. 6 minutes into the game, Felipe Fernandes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Färid Mondragón was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Filip Josefsson scored 0-2 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Färid Mondragón, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Färid Mondragón showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filip Josefsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. With a little luck, PINGO PINGO's Dionisio Raphael got control of the ball when Róbert Benkó tried to sneak it across the goal line. Färid Mondragón took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvaro Micarelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, Armada's goal looked a bit too open when Alvaro Micarelli came free, but Färid Mondragón reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Färid Mondragón showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filip Josefsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Róbert Benkó could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Dionisio Raphael made a huge save. A collision led to PINGO PINGO getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Casimiro Claris hit a great ball. 44 minutes into the game, Rivaldo Esquerdo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Armada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PINGO PINGO the free kick. Rivaldo Esquerdo kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Filip Josefsson struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Färid Mondragón didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PINGO PINGO. After the first half PINGO PINGO were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Filip Josefsson to make the kick off. Róbert Benkó recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Armada getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Ştefan Grama hit a great ball. Färid Mondragón made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulo José de Carvalho in the 64th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Filip Josefsson got free with Färid Mondragón in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Armada's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Filip Josefsson scored to the left of an out of position Färid Mondragón, making the score, 0-4. 74 minutes into the match, Armada's goalkeeper Färid Mondragón had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Filip Josefsson. In the 81st minute Rivaldo Esquerdo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dionisio Raphael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Armada booed when PINGO PINGO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregorio Tancoš didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armada's Eliodor Coposu was substituted for Ma Feng Sen. PINGO PINGO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Róbert Benkó was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. In the 94th match minute, PINGO PINGO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casimiro Claris to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, PINGO PINGO's Färid Mondragón threw himself towards the right post 96 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gilberto Demario, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 97 minutes had been played when some careless play by Armada's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joga Bem was slow to take the kick. During this time PINGO PINGO's players had a chance to rest. When the match was over PINGO PINGO could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Armada throughout the match.
