Palermo's Alfredo Joey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaudencio Lekubegi in the 8th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Carolo Rozarius had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Iwan Lepucki. LavAzzA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carolo Rozarius was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Santiago Mino in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iwan Lepucki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kuno Kubin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Alfredo Joey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Gaudencio Lekubegi came free, but Alfredo Joey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Palermo's Arnoldo Medina got a free kick in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnoldo Medina in the 34th minute of play forced LavAzzA's goalkeeper Iwan Lepucki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gaudencio Lekubegi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfredo Joey read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. The Palermo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

After 92 minutes, Gaudencio Lekubegi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the LavAzzA and the Palermo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 92 played minutes LavAzzA got a freekick which was hit by Gaudencio Lekubegi. 94 minutes into the match, LavAzzA's goalkeeper Iwan Lepucki had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcelino Chaime. Alfredo Joey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaudencio Lekubegi in the 98th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Palermo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
