Domingos Lencastre hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Domingos Lencastre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 8th minute Domingos Lencastre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leif Opdal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leif Opdal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Domingos Lencastre went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Domingos Lencastre took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leif Opdal. Leif Opdal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Leif Opdal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingos Lencastre in the 27th minute of play. Leif Opdal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony Påk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Brufoss IL getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Emmanuel Schol hit a great ball. Leif Opdal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingos Lencastre in the 33rd minute of the match. Mariusz Lamczyk hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Gremio Viana's Samuel Fiúza got control of the ball when Frode Tobiassen tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 37 minutes, Domingos Lencastre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gremio Viana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingos Lencastre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Brufoss IL defense, Domingos Lencastre kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leif Opdal. The Brufoss IL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leif Opdal should have stopped the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Domingos Lencastre stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Emmanuel Schol made in the 51st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Frode Tobiassen. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Domingos Lencastre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gremio Viana's supporters rose to their feet, but Domingos Lencastre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leif Opdal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Domingos Lencastre in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leif Opdal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Domingos Lencastre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leif Opdal made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Domingos Lencastre sent off a good shot on target. Leif Opdal was out of position in the 62 minute of play, and Domingos Lencastre capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Domingos Lencastre really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. Brufoss IL's Nils-Arne Bruvik was substituted for Kevin Strømsnes. Brufoss IL made a substitution. Asbjørn Sigurdsen replaced Anders Elstad. If Domingos Lencastre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Domingos Lencastre kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leif Opdal. That made the score 0-8 in the 80 minute of play. If Joaquim Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Samuel Fiúza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Markham in the 87th minute of the match. Joaquim Paredes might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leif Opdal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joaquim Paredes ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Joaquim Paredes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leif Opdal was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. 93 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's Joaquim Paredes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leif Opdal narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
