In the 5th minute of the match SCs StarS got a corner. Kings's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Florian Hekman ran over to the corner to take the kick. Florian Hekman made a great header on SCs StarS's corner, it was just that Kings's Haşim Batüralp managed to reach the ball for a save. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Thiago Gol sped through Kings's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Haşim Batüralp. Thiago Gol might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Haşim Batüralp. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thiago Gol ran back to his position shaking his head. With an all-out effort, Kings's Petr Čech threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Raido Pulver, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jordy Dirks struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Haşim Batüralp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SCs StarS. In the 44th match minute, SCs StarS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luka Ramos to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

SCs StarS's Henk Zijden was substituted for Edgar Reitsema. Kings made a substitution. Luís Figo replaced Rocco Ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raido Pulver stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, SCs StarS's Robert de Graaf got a free kick in the 54th minute. Haşim Batüralp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thiago Gol in the 79th minute of play. SCs StarS's Petr Čech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raido Pulver in the 83rd minute of play. Jordy Dirks could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Haşim Batüralp made a huge save. A hard shot 93 in the game by Jordy Dirks from a close distance when the talented Haşim Batüralp managed to make a qualified save. Kings's players were relieved. After 95 played minutes Kings got a freekick which was hit by Cosme Mateus. In the 96th minute, Florian Hekman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The SCs StarS players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
