Petr Čech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kim Lekberg in the 4th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kim Lekberg in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petr Čech prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Club Atletico Los Andes's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomáš Lamačka in the 13th minute. Thiago Gol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tipi Calderon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Co Scholten hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. When Club Atletico Los Andes's Kim Lekberg in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 31st minute SCs StarS were awarded a corner. Florian Hekman went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Florian Hekman got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tipi Calderon quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of SCs StarS booed when Club Atletico Los Andes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kim Lekberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th match minute, Club Atletico Los Andes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casper Martinsson to maneuver through the defense. 43 minutes into the match, Jordy Dirks had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tipi Calderon. Club Atletico Los Andes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jordy Dirks was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a rather tough play, SCs StarS's Edgar Reitsema got a free kick in the 47th minute. SCs StarS made a substitution. Henk Zijden replaced Edgar Reitsema. Edgar Reitsema kicked well hit freekick during the 49th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thiago Gol was the one to do the kick off. Petr Čech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kim Lekberg in the 59th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, SCs StarS's goal looked a bit too open when Kim Lekberg came free, but Petr Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute, Wlodzimierz Kochanowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SCs StarS's Petr Čech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kim Lekberg in the 70th minute of play. SCs StarS's Florian Hekman got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Club Atletico Los Andes's Eusebio Cordarrel was substituted for Tomáš Lamačka. Petr Čech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaj Skager in the 80th minute of the match. After having played for 81 minutes, Kaj Skager managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atletico Los Andes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaj Skager was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Jordy Dirks sped through Club Atletico Los Andes's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tipi Calderon. Florian Hekman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Tipi Calderon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute Kaj Skager shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The SCs StarS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SCs StarS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
