In the 11th minute, Juventus Telford's Pedro Henry seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Pedro Henry the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Juventus Telford protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Pedro Henry had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 11th minute, one of Juventus Telford:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Juventus Telford. If Pipis Karapatakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cälal Elxanov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Pipis Karapatakis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luizinho Paranaense was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. That made the score 0-1 in the 84 minute of play. In the 86thth minute of the game Kevin Hellkvist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grêmio FBPA's Jardel Sanches was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joonas Mure made in the 93rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Grêmio FBPA's Filiph Biörling. Jardel Sanches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Hellkvist in the 95th minute of play. When Juventus Telford's Konstanty Dubiel in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Grêmio FBPA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
