Red Devils's Braulio Gartxot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gianluca Balla in the 5th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Red Devils's goalkeeper Braulio Gartxot had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gianluca Balla. 13 minutes into the match, Red Devils's goalkeeper Braulio Gartxot had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gianluca Balla. Braulio Gartxot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinu Bocu in the 14th minute of play. Braulio Gartxot made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Dinu Bocu sent off a good shot on target. In the 17th minute Hamburg Fighters were awarded a corner. Wieslaw Obuchowicz went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Wieslaw Obuchowicz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Braulio Gartxot quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Marcel da Rocha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pavlos Konstantakakis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Red Devils's Marcel da Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pavlos Konstantakakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tanek Szel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcel da Rocha in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pavlos Konstantakakis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gianluca Balla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Braulio Gartxot made a huge save. 39 minutes into the match, Hamburg Fighters's Dinu Bocu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Braulio Gartxot narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Hamburg Fighters's goalkeeper Pavlos Konstantakakis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Hamburg Fighters booed when Red Devils was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tanek Szel didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 51st minute, Marcel da Rocha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pavlos Konstantakakis was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcel da Rocha in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pavlos Konstantakakis saved Hamburg Fighters from getting behind. Braulio Gartxot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gianni Balla in the 58th minute of play. Hamburg Fighters were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Red Devils's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Wieslaw Obuchowicz took the corner. Wieslaw Obuchowicz made a great header on Hamburg Fighters's corner, it was just that Red Devils's Braulio Gartxot managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gianni Balla in the 73rd minute of play forced Red Devils's goalkeeper Braulio Gartxot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Red Devils's goal looked a bit too open when Gianni Balla came free, but Braulio Gartxot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pavlos Konstantakakis came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Red Devils's Marcel da Rocha. But to his dismay, Marcel da Rocha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Red Devils's Kazimierz Deyna was substituted for Radoslaw Solibieda. Braulio Gartxot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gianluca Balla in the 81st minute of play. Enrico Piccirilli made in the 85th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Gianni Balla. Marcel da Rocha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pavlos Konstantakakis having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcel da Rocha got free with Pavlos Konstantakakis in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Braulio Gartxot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gianni Balla, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Chants of Red Devils echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Hamburg Fighters had held the ball for most of the match.
