Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Elliot Termander started the match with the kick off. When Iustin Hațegan came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the The Underdogs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iustin Hațegan couldn't finish the play. Lars Blom made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dolf Schoonderwoerd in the 6th minute. When Sigvard Mellbad fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFC Eskilstuna's protests and gave Sigvard Mellbad a yellow card for diving instead. 9 minutes into the game, Dolf Schoonderwoerd recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lars Blom. Dolf Schoonderwoerd showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Riemer Fries during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 13th minute, Riemer Fries hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jan Wessel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elliot Termander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Dolf Schoonderwoerd's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lars Blom was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Dolf Schoonderwoerd kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lars Blom. That made the score 2-0 in the 19 minute of play. Emil Kyurpanov came free with the goalkeeper in the 26th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lars Blom could save by the left post. Lars Blom stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Piearres Olalla's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Piearres Olalla in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lars Blom prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When The Underdogs's Dolf Schoonderwoerd in 31 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Lars Blom guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After having played for 33 minutes, Dan Njurenius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Eskilstuna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dan Njurenius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dolf Schoonderwoerd recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emil Kyurpanov shot from long distance in the 38th minute, but Lars Blom was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. AFC Eskilstuna's Lars Blom proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save AFC Eskilstuna from getting a goal against them. Dolf Schoonderwoerd could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Lars Blom made a huge save. After a rather tough play, AFC Eskilstuna's Martin Källberg got a free kick in the 42nd minute. The supporters of AFC Eskilstuna booed when The Underdogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ed Palsma didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in The Underdogs's zone, Dan Njurenius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan Wessel came out of the goal and Dan Njurenius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dolf Schoonderwoerd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Lars Blom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Piearres Olalla was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by AFC Eskilstuna's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ed Palsma was slow to take the kick. During this time The Underdogs's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Ed Palsma almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but AFC Eskilstuna's Lars Blom did a great save. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by AFC Eskilstuna's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ed Palsma was slow to take the kick. During this time The Underdogs's players had a chance to rest. The Underdogs's Dolf Schoonderwoerd got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, AFC Eskilstuna's goal looked a bit too open when Piearres Olalla came free, but Lars Blom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72ndth minute of the game Dolf Schoonderwoerd who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AFC Eskilstuna's Lars Blom was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 74 minutes into the match, AFC Eskilstuna's goal looked a bit too open when Piearres Olalla came free, but Lars Blom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, AFC Eskilstuna's Magne Lindström got a free kick in the 74th minute. Lars Blom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dolf Schoonderwoerd, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 78th minute, Piearres Olalla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 79th minute Piearres Olalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lars Blom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Dolf Schoonderwoerd managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Underdogs's supporters rose to their feet, but Dolf Schoonderwoerd was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lars Blom breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lars Blom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dolf Schoonderwoerd, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Jan Wessel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sigvard Mellbad in the 84th minute of the match. Lars Blom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dolf Schoonderwoerd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 87 minutes into the match, The Underdogs's Dolf Schoonderwoerd sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lars Blom narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ed Palsma's late challenge caught a AFC Eskilstuna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ed Palsma helped the player get up and apologised. Ed Palsma kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Jan Wessel was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dennis Nordgren. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dolf Schoonderwoerd in the 92nd minute of play forced AFC Eskilstuna's goalkeeper Lars Blom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dan Njurenius kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. In the 97th minute of the match Ed Palsma sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lars Blom skillfully saved the ball. The Underdogs were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of AFC Eskilstuna for a fine match.
