Minerul Baita -MM-'s Frederik Dhondt got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 18 minutes into the match, Ciprian Alexe notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Scorpions -MM-'s Cristinel Zdrobiş. Cristinel Zdrobiş was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Scorpions -MM-'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sergiu Golescu in the 26th minute. The Scorpions -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristinel Zdrobiş should have stopped the shot. Cristinel Zdrobiş took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allan Shearer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luca Păun's late challenge caught a Minerul Baita -MM-'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristinel Zdrobiş prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Costel Ţintă made the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Scorpions -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Costel Ţintă.
