Antônio Carlos Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kadri Coşan in the 35th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Palestra do Interior's Luisão de Medeiros got a free kick in the 38th minute. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hulusi Berkman in the 40th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nelsinho Marinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Under 18 Universe's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Tahsin Orguntay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelsinho Marinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when Under 18 Universe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ümit Akersoy didn't get a good kick on the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goal looked a bit too open when Kadri Coşan came free, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Under 18 Universe defense, Nelsinho Marinho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tahsin Orguntay. The Under 18 Universe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tahsin Orguntay should have stopped the shot. The Under 18 Universe players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
