Pedrinho Guimarães made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Generoso Michael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrinho Guimarães having to interfere. After 18 played minutes Galáctico Azul FC™ got a freekick which was hit by Generoso Michael. The supporters of Castanheiro SC booed when Galáctico Azul FC™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Xabel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enrique Belasko made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anísio Alagoano in the 23rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benedito Mineiro in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enrique Belasko prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. The audience was convinced that Nilson Veloso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enrique Belasko was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Castanheiro SC's Pedrinho Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eulalio Vincent in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Guillermo Miliano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galáctico Azul FC™'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Castanheiro SC the free kick.
