The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Faustão Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gregorio Lehior made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Ángel Benito in the 7th minute of play. Cascadia United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rene Pueblo in the 9th minute. Cascadia United's Rene Pueblo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gregorio Lehior in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Cascadia United's Leonel Rocco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mattin Solbeida in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute of the match Tacheros de Buenos Aires got a corner. Cascadia United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Claes Anundsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. Abel Neron kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Faustão Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonel Rocco having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mattin Solbeida got free with Leonel Rocco in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A sloppy throw-in by Rolando Guilabertus in the 30th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Cascadia United's Tamás Lovas. Cascadia United were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after Tacheros de Buenos Aires's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rene Pueblo took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Wang Di Yi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gregorio Lehior quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cascadia United's Leonel Rocco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Cascadia United from getting a goal against them. Faustão Melo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Leonel Rocco firmly grabbed it by the left post. Leopold Greve struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Gregorio Lehior didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cascadia United. Leonel Rocco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mattin Solbeida in the 43rd minute of play. Mattin Solbeida could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Leonel Rocco made a huge save. Cascadia United's Constantino Neto was substituted for Abel Neron. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mattin Solbeida to make the kick off. Cascadia United's Leonel Rocco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vilius Gudavičius in the 56th minute of play. Faustão Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonel Rocco having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Cascadia United's Miguel Ángel Benito dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. Mattin Solbeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonel Rocco having to interfere. Tacheros de Buenos Aires were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after Cascadia United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Claes Anundsson took the corner. Conrado Ugaitz tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Leonel Rocco. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-1 in the 68th minute. Cascadia United's Wang Di Yi managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Rolando Guilabertus in the 71 minute of the game. Wang Di Yi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Gregorio Lehior tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gregorio Lehior took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Ángel Benito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Miguel Ángel Benito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 84th minute, Miguel Ángel Benito reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gregorio Lehior. The goal made the score 1-2. Gregorio Lehior was a little too slow when Miguel Ángel Benito got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 97th minute. The score was now 1-3. The Tacheros de Buenos Aires manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Cascadia United to win.
