Edmundo Nóbrega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dong Zhen Song having to interfere. Edmundo Nóbrega who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 8thth minute tested the skills of Dong Zhen Song when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 12 minutes, Abelardo Artizar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cabezones and the Santa Lucia de Merlo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Abelardo Artizar hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Cabezones's Dong Zhen Song proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Cabezones from getting a goal against them. Celso Hernando's late challenge caught a Santa Lucia de Merlo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celso Hernando helped the player get up and apologised. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Polo Quinteros in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dong Zhen Song saved Cabezones from getting behind. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cabezones! Florentino Herauso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duran Hunalp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute Duran Hunalp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Herauso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute, Polo Quinteros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dong Zhen Song made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Polo Quinteros in the 46th minute of play. In the 48th minute Santa Lucia de Merlo were awarded a corner. Aldo Hartz went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 50th minute, Bosse Spendrup hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Duran Hunalp made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Santa Lucia de Merlo booed when Cabezones was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ariel Mannie didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 62 minutes, M. Agus Young made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Cabezones's Dong Zhen Song tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by M. Agus Young in the 69th minute of play forced Cabezones's goalkeeper Dong Zhen Song to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. M. Agus Young's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dong Zhen Song read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cabezones's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Arnaldo Chano was slow to take the kick. During this time Santa Lucia de Merlo's players had a chance to rest. Arnaldo Chano made a great header on Santa Lucia de Merlo's corner, it was just that Cabezones's Dong Zhen Song managed to reach the ball for a save. M. Agus Young received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Dong Zhen Song tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
