Pankracy Glogowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruperto Bide in the 20th minute of the match. Emil Chwalkiewicz made in the 23rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Gunners's Giorgos Kretsos. Pankracy Glogowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Muhittin Tuyuğ, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After some careless play in the Club Atlético Atlanta defense, Muhittin Tuyuğ kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pankracy Glogowski. The Club Atlético Atlanta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pankracy Glogowski should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gunners's attentive Giorgos Kretsos managed to snatch the ball when Santos Oskitz made a throw-in in the 90th minute of the game. In the 96th match minute, Club Atlético Atlanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Ferdinand to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gunners fans cheered their team off the field, for while Club Atlético Atlanta had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
