The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Romário Ceresso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 7 minutes into the match, La Bichineta's goal looked a bit too open when Romário Ceresso came free, but Amado Ignazio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Ceresso in the 8th minute of play forced La Bichineta's goalkeeper Amado Ignazio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of La Bichineta booed when Scarlet Speedster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Umberto de Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dudu de Toledo made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Basilio Cugat sent off a good shot on target. Esteban Guter hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After having played for 14 minutes, Romário Ceresso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scarlet Speedster's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romário Ceresso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 17 minutes into the match, La Bichineta's goal looked a bit too open when Cafu Toledo came free, but Amado Ignazio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th match minute, La Bichineta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustin Isauro to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, La Bichineta's Baldomero Stephen got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Scarlet Speedster's Dudu de Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cayetano Cedro in the 26th minute of play. Jânio Guimarães struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Amado Ignazio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Scarlet Speedster. If Cafu Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gonzalo Enaut hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorginho Peres in the 32nd minute of play forced La Bichineta's goalkeeper Amado Ignazio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the game, one of Scarlet Speedster:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. A collision led to Scarlet Speedster getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Allan Souto hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Basilio Cugat managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Bichineta's supporters rose to their feet, but Basilio Cugat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dudu de Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jânio Guimarães scored 1-1 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amado Ignazio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the La Bichineta defense, Jânio Guimarães kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amado Ignazio. The La Bichineta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amado Ignazio should have stopped the shot. After the first half Scarlet Speedster were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabricio Silban stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dudu de Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabricio Silban, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Amado Ignazio managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when Scarlet Speedster's Jânio Guimarães fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 56th minute, Jorginho Peres fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Amado Ignazio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorginho Peres in the 56th minute of the match. La Bichineta's Amado Ignazio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save La Bichineta from getting a goal against them. Dudu de Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabricio Silban, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Cafu Toledo struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Amado Ignazio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Scarlet Speedster. When Scarlet Speedster's Jorginho Peres in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye La Bichineta's goalie prevented a goal. Jorginho Peres had several of the La Bichineta's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 66 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-3 score and a disappointed Amado Ignazio as he didn't even see the shot coming. Lino Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Dudu de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabricio Silban in the 74th minute of play. When La Bichineta's Fabricio Silban in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Scarlet Speedster's goalie prevented a goal. In the 79th minute, Scarlet Speedster's Leonardo Pombal ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Amado Ignazio. Amado Ignazio yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Gonzalo Enaut received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Dudu de Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jânio Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leonardo Pombal took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amado Ignazio. Amado Ignazio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6.
