Matías Valle came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Jovens Democratas MZC's Sérgio Chaves. But to his dismay, Sérgio Chaves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Jovens Democratas MZC's Erasmo Lucas got a free kick in the 28th minute. Erasmo Lucas charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erasmo Lucas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 46th minute, Erasmo Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Júlio Guerra during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Jovens Democratas MZC getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Júlio Guerra hit a great ball. After the first half Jovens Democratas MZC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedro Luiz Marinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Matías Valle came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Jovens Democratas MZC's Maicon de Amorim. But to his dismay, Maicon de Amorim quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Jovens Democratas MZC made a substitution. César Coelho replaced Claudinei Salles. Jovens Democratas MZC's Allan Baiano was substituted for Júlio Guerra. Edvaldo Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luiz Marinho in the 76th minute of the match. Maicon de Amorim's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Matías Valle skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Matías Valle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save PEÇONHENTO FC MG from getting a goal against them. Edvaldo Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Rosado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valdemar Guerra who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Matías Valle when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Valdemar Guerra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Matías Valle made a huge save.
