In the 4th minute, Dalmo Gaspar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 7 minutes into the match, Alfa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Otávio Montenegro came free, but Patrick Cardozo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edvaldo Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurício de Lara in the 10th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Alfa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Branco came free, but Patrick Cardozo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Jovens Democratas MZC booed when Alfa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmo Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maurício de Lara received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Edvaldo Costa came out and tried to block the shot, but Maurício de Lara slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 36th minute. 39 minutes into the game, Luís Paulo Domingues was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jovens Democratas MZC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alfa FC the free kick. Patrick Cardozo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Otávio Montenegro went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Giovani Diniz to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Alfa FC booed when Jovens Democratas MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Augusto Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Alfa FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Patrick Cardozo should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maurício de Lara during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maurício de Lara in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edvaldo Costa saved Jovens Democratas MZC from getting behind. Maicon de Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Edvaldo Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurício de Lara in the 95th minute of play. Jovens Democratas MZC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
