The referee ignored Lithuanian amber's protests and gave Remigijus Damijonas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th match minute, Lithuanian amber was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remigijus Damijonas to maneuver through the defense. Mete Gol might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kęstutis Luzeckas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mete Gol ran back to his position shaking his head. Kęstutis Luzeckas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Acácio Figueiredo in the 18th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Atlético Capixaba's Francisco Rosado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kęstutis Luzeckas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Kęstutis Luzeckas made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Mete Gol sent off a good shot on target.
