Mathias Catarinense received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. After a rather tough play, Abutres 2003 FDP's Caio Aguiar got a free kick in the 18th minute. Caio da Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaká Goiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of AF CERRADO booed when Abutres 2003 FDP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathias Catarinense didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 21 played minutes, AF CERRADO's Richard Travassos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Caio da Costa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AF CERRADO reached it. In the 23rd minute Renatinho Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caio da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th match minute, Abutres 2003 FDP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caio Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. Caio da Costa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 64th minute there was a penalty for Abutres 2003 FDP. Caio Aguiar stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Sandrinho Sabóia. 3-1. Geovani do Nascimento charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geovani do Nascimento the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 69th match minute, Abutres 2003 FDP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovani do Nascimento to maneuver through the defense.
