When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Kaká Goiano put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Vicente Toscano. The audience was convinced that José Paulo de Barros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sandrinho Sabóia was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game.
