Juninho Secco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sandrinho Sabóia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nildo Sergipano in the 10th minute of play. Jonathan Zanette stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kaká Goiano's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Grêmio 20 Julho's goal looked a bit too open when Kaká Goiano came free, but Jonathan Zanette reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, AF CERRADO's goalkeeper Sandrinho Sabóia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juninho Secco. Juninho Secco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandrinho Sabóia having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Grêmio 20 Julho's goal looked a bit too open when Kaká Goiano came free, but Jonathan Zanette reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute Kaká Goiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Zanette saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Fabiano Jacinto kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 35th minute Nildo Sergipano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho Sabóia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Téo Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juninho Secco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandrinho Sabóia having to interfere. Sandrinho Sabóia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nildo Sergipano, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 42ndth minute of the game Kaká Goiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grêmio 20 Julho's Jonathan Zanette was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Nildo Sergipano notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of AF CERRADO's Sandrinho Sabóia. Sandrinho Sabóia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kaká Goiano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sandrinho Sabóia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nildo Sergipano, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. A collision led to AF CERRADO getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Armandinho de Salles hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, AF CERRADO's Jonathan Zanette threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kaká Goiano, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Nildo Sergipano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 74 played minutes AF CERRADO got a freekick which was hit by Armandinho de Salles. Sandrinho Sabóia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nildo Sergipano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 79 minutes into the match, Nildo Sergipano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sandrinho Sabóia. AF CERRADO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nildo Sergipano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After 87 played minutes AF CERRADO got a freekick which was hit by Armandinho de Salles. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nildo Sergipano in the 88th minute of play forced AF CERRADO's goalkeeper Sandrinho Sabóia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 90 minutes, Nildo Sergipano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grêmio 20 Julho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nildo Sergipano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
