A well-hit corner resulted in Gilberto Quadros heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After 13 minutes Esporte Club Bahia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Florin Susara who took care of the corner kick. Inácio Freitas made a great header on MarquinhosEC's corner, it was just that Esporte Club Bahia's Marcelo Lomba managed to reach the ball for a save. After some careless play in the Esporte Club Bahia defense, Inácio Freitas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcelo Lomba. The Esporte Club Bahia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcelo Lomba should have stopped the shot. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. MarquinhosEC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
