Gelu Balotă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedicto Abello in the 7th minute of the match. George Bălanescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mihnea Suşu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gelu Balotă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedicto Abello, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute, Laurențiu Rogozanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 25 played minutes DINAMO PLOIESTI got a freekick which was hit by George Bălanescu. Mihnea Suşu was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Niculae Geangu. George Bălanescus short, quick shot in the 39thth minute got Mihnea Suşu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 41 minutes into the game, Valer Cioculescu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mihnea Suşu. Valer Cioculescu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. In the 44th minute, Kunter Irmak fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. George Bălanescu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Mihnea Suşu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell George Bălanescu to make the kick off. A collision led to FC Dacii Liberi - IASI getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Petru Drâmba hit a great ball. Mathias de Hondt's late challenge caught a DINAMO PLOIESTI's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mihnea Suşu was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match clock showed 75 minutes, the score became 7-0 when George Bălanescu sped through FC Dacii Liberi - IASI's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mihnea Suşu. DINAMO PLOIESTI's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
