A collision led to PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Radu Cigu hit a great ball. In the 7th minute Dobrin Cormoran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dacian Ghițescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Dacian Ghițescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dobrin Cormoran in the 7th minute of play. The supporters of Cormoranii -MM- booed when PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgil Jupân didn't get a good kick on the ball. Radu Cigu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Liviu Enoiu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. The throw-in from Bobby Fischer in the 23rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Marcu Tudor. The supporters of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca booed when Cormoranii -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucrețiu Sântimbrean didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goal looked a bit too open when Ramiro Paul came free, but Dacian Ghițescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Ramiro Paul left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cormoranii -MM- fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Liviu Enoiu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 39th minute, Dobrin Cormoran ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dacian Ghițescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 46 minutes into the game, Dobrin Cormoran cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Dacian Ghițescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Codruț Macaneață made a kick off. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Dacian Ghițescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramiro Paul in the 56th minute of play. Lucrețiu Sântimbrean scored 0-4 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dacian Ghițescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 64 minutes into the match, Ramiro Paul notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Dacian Ghițescu. Dacian Ghițescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 68th match minute, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Moise Ţurlău to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isac Covataru in the 71st minute of play forced PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Dacian Ghițescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dacian Ghițescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Paul in the 72nd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goal looked a bit too open when Isac Covataru came free, but Dacian Ghițescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dobrin Cormoran scored 0-6 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dacian Ghițescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Codruț Macaneață hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Cormoranii -MM-'s Lucrețiu Sântimbrean got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cormoranii -MM-'s Liviu Enoiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Codruț Macaneață in the 95th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Cormoranii -MM- left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca.
