Academia Rio's defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when Tiberiu Caramarin scored to the left of an out of position Gigel Tilea, making the score, 1-0. Gigel Tilea came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by MIT Craiova's Tiberiu Caramarin. But to his dismay, Tiberiu Caramarin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Tiberiu Caramarins short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Gigel Tilea to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 15 minutes, Tiberiu Caramarin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MIT Craiova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiberiu Caramarin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tiberiu Caramarin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Gigel Tilea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dorin Banu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Gigel Tilea made a huge save. In the 33rd minute Tiberiu Caramarin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigel Tilea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basarab Irod in the 37th minute of play forced MIT Craiova's goalkeeper Calistrat Madgearu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the match, MIT Craiova's Tiberiu Caramarin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gigel Tilea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tiberiu Caramarin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gigel Tilea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Tiberiu Caramarin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gigel Tilea. Academia Rio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tiberiu Caramarin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. MIT Craiova's Mihăiţă Ilarie was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gigel Tilea in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Tiberiu Caramarin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fabian Geantă replaced Mihăiţă Ilarie. Gigel Tilea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiberiu Caramarin in the 81st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tiberiu Caramarin in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gigel Tilea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. MIT Craiova's Bogdan Bucataru was substituted for Florin Seremet. Jean Oltean was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 87 minutes into the match. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Academia Rio! Gigel Tilea had in the 88thth minute some difficulties stopping Bogdan Bucataru's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Academia Rio's goal looked a bit too open when Tiberiu Caramarin came free, but Gigel Tilea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute Tiberiu Caramarin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigel Tilea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicodim Orășan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gigel Tilea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiberiu Caramarin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. MIT Craiova had won after a very even match.
