The audience was convinced that Gheorghe Odobescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gigel Tilea was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marin Giubelean in the 16th minute of play forced The North Face's goalkeeper Remigiusz Kieca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benedict Mata's late challenge caught a Academia Rio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benedict Mata helped the player get up and apologised. Academia Rio's Valeriu Ilinca was substituted for Lucian Petriceanu. In the 18th minute, Benedict Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basarab Irod in the 19th minute of play forced The North Face's goalkeeper Remigiusz Kieca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Remigiusz Kieca came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Academia Rio's Basarab Irod. But to his dismay, Basarab Irod quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Gheorghe Odobescu struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Gigel Tilea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The North Face. Marin Giubelean kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After having played for 28 minutes, Benedict Mata managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The North Face's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benedict Mata was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Marin Giubelean got free in front of the goal in the 35th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Remigiusz Kieca was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Gigel Tilea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tiberiu Măcriș in the 37th minute. After 39 minutes, Gheorghe Odobescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The North Face and the Academia Rio players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Academia Rio booed when The North Face was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gheorghe Odobescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basarab Irod scored 0-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Remigiusz Kieca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dumitru Pantelimon charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dumitru Pantelimon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Academia Rio getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Dumitru Pantelimon hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergiu Coșeriu in the 46th minute of play forced The North Face's goalkeeper Remigiusz Kieca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Gigel Tilea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ioan Andone in the 52nd minute of the match. Marcel Mitrofan hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Dumitru Pantelimon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Remigiusz Kieca made a huge save. In the 57th minute Marin Giubelean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigiusz Kieca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gigel Tilea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiberiu Măcriș in the 59th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Basarab Irod managed to get in a good position for a shot. Academia Rio's supporters rose to their feet, but Basarab Irod was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remigiusz Kieca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 61st minute, Benedict Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Remigiusz Kieca made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Sergiu Coșeriu sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gheorghe Odobescu in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gigel Tilea saved Academia Rio from getting behind. Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gheorghe Odobescu in the 72nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sergiu Coșeriu got free with Remigiusz Kieca in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gigel Tilea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiberiu Măcriș in the 76th minute of play. Remigiusz Kieca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basarab Irod, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Codrin Ionete kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Gigel Tilea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiberiu Măcriș in the 95th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Academia Rio left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than The North Face.
