Spectators: 38 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) 2 minutes into the match, UMF IASI's goal looked a bit too open when Stelian Murgu came free, but Aron Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 4th minute of the match Club Vertigo got a corner. UMF IASI's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Roberto Carlos ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ovidiu Caranfil didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adrian Ghiurutan went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iurie Peptan in the 8th minute of play forced Club Vertigo's goalkeeper Ovidiu Caranfil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ovidiu Caranfil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sorin Timofte in the 13th minute of play. Stelian Murgu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Aron Costa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some careless play in the Club Vertigo defense, Manole Văduvescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ovidiu Caranfil. The Club Vertigo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ovidiu Caranfil should have stopped the shot. Club Vertigo's Ovidiu Caranfil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manole Văduvescu in the 23rd minute of play. Ovidiu Caranfil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manole Văduvescu in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manole Văduvescu in the 26th minute of play forced Club Vertigo's goalkeeper Ovidiu Caranfil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Well-Well Benne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute Adrian Ghiurutan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Caranfil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ovidiu Caranfil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manole Văduvescu in the 32nd minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, UMF IASI's goalkeeper Aron Costa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stelian Murgu. In the 37th minute, Dorel Măndica hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 38 minutes into the game, Club Vertigo's Well-Well Benne nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aron Costa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Well-Well Benne made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind UMF IASI's goalkeeper Aron Costa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Stelian Murgu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Club Vertigo getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Stelian Murgu hit a great ball. In the 59th minute Well-Well Benne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aron Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stelian Murgu in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aron Costa saved UMF IASI from getting behind. Club Vertigo's Well-Well Benne got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ovidiu Caranfil was a little too slow when Manole Văduvescu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 1-3. Adrian Ghiurutan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Ovidiu Caranfil made a huge save. Sorin Timofte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Ovidiu Caranfil made a huge save. UMF IASI were awarded a corner in the 73th minute after Club Vertigo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sorin Timofte took the corner. Vasile Iurea hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. If Stelian Murgu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute Well-Well Benne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aron Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deyan Iordănescu's late challenge caught a UMF IASI's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Deyan Iordănescu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th match minute, Club Vertigo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Deyan Iordănescu to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute of the match Sorin Timofte sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ovidiu Caranfil skillfully saved the ball. After 91 played minutes UMF IASI got a freekick which was hit by Nechifor Braru. In the 92nd minute, Roberto Carlos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aron Costa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. In the 95th match minute, Club Vertigo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasile Iurea to maneuver through the defense.
