After some careless play in the Club Vertigo defense, Sorin Timofte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ovidiu Caranfil. UMF IASI's Aron Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Well-Well Benne in the 10th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Well-Well Benne in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aron Costa saved UMF IASI from getting behind. When Stelian Murgu came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Club Vertigo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stelian Murgu couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ştefan Panțuru in the 15th minute of play forced UMF IASI's goalkeeper Aron Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, UMF IASI's goal looked a bit too open when Well-Well Benne came free, but Aron Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aron Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Well-Well Benne's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Aron Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vasile Iurea, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Aron Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stelian Murgu in the 33rd minute of the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manole Văduvescu was the one to do the kick off. Aron Costa had in the 56thth minute some difficulties stopping Stelian Murgu's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 1-4 came in the 56th minute when Stelian Murgu all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Aron Costa. Aron Costa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ştefan Panțuru went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. In the 62nd minute, Ştefan Panțuru made a precise shot to the right of Aron Costa. UMF IASI's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Ghiurutan in the 66th minute of play forced Club Vertigo's goalkeeper Ovidiu Caranfil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Stelian Murgu notched a goal, 1-7, to the right of UMF IASI's Aron Costa. The supporters of Club Vertigo booed when UMF IASI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sorin Timofte didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 92 played minutes UMF IASI got a freekick which was hit by Sorin Timofte. Ovidiu Caranfil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manole Văduvescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aron Costa was a little too slow when Well-Well Benne got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 97th minute. The score was now 2-8. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Club Vertigo eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
