In the 13th minute of the match SuperDepor got a corner. Chevaliers FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Stelian Pivniceru ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led SuperDepor's Stelian Pivniceru to fire away a dangerous shot which Niculae Ailenei despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iustinian Comăneci in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Niculae Ailenei saved Chevaliers FC from getting behind. Niculae Ailenei made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Stelian Pivniceru sent off a good shot on target. When Antonio Navarro came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Chevaliers FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antonio Navarro couldn't finish the play. After having played for 24 minutes, Călin Bolborici managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SuperDepor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Călin Bolborici was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Romeo Hosu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niculae Ailenei having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Chevaliers FC's goalkeeper Niculae Ailenei had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stelian Pivniceru. Gică Hagi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Radu Tarchilă having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Konstantin Elek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stelian Pivniceru's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Niculae Ailenei firmly grabbed it by the left post. Radu Tarchilă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gică Hagi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute Chris Chevalier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radu Tarchilă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Chevaliers FC defense, Călin Bolborici kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Niculae Ailenei. The Chevaliers FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Niculae Ailenei should have stopped the shot. In the 59th minute Stelian Pivniceru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niculae Ailenei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
