In the 8th minute, Róbert Pál-Szabó hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ferdinand Joldea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zygmunt Dunajski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ferdinand Joldea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zygmunt Dunajski in the 10th minute. Marian Văduvescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corneliu Lupescu in the 11th minute of play. If Róbert Pál-Szabó had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marian Văduvescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Róbert Pál-Szabó in the 18th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Vasile Mumuleanu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marian Văduvescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ferdinand Joldea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filip Paulescu's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Ferdinand Joldea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zygmunt Dunajski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute, Róbert Pál-Szabó got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ferdinand Joldea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolae Barbu in the 39th minute of the match. Marian Văduvescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vasile Mumuleanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Róbert Pál-Szabó kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Róbert Pál-Szabó made a precise shot to the right of Marian Văduvescu. FC Steaua Pildesti's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After the first half Champions Iasi were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Róbert Pál-Szabó made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicolae Barbu in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ferdinand Joldea saved Champions Iasi from getting behind. In the 62nd match minute, Champions Iasi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cosmin Iureș to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zygmunt Dunajski in the 67th minute of play forced Champions Iasi's goalkeeper Ferdinand Joldea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Champions Iasi's goal looked a bit too open when Zygmunt Dunajski came free, but Ferdinand Joldea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicolae Barbu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdinand Joldea having to interfere. A collision led to FC Steaua Pildesti getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Nistor Costandache hit a great ball. Iustin Coporan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 81stth minute tested the skills of Marian Văduvescu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Corneliu Lupescu made a great header on Champions Iasi's corner, it was just that FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu managed to reach the ball for a save. 85 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Marian Văduvescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Róbert Pál-Szabó. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zygmunt Dunajski in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ferdinand Joldea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 92nd minute, Constantin Deșliu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 93 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Pildesti's goal looked a bit too open when Vasile Mumuleanu came free, but Marian Văduvescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
